Today marked the U14s' debut in the county cup, and the parents were treated to a thrilling performance. As is typical, the boys started slowly, spending the first five minutes defending their tryline. However, once they regained possession, the backs quickly capitalized on the opportunity, scoring their opening try under the posts. From that moment on, it was a dominant display from the team, as they ran in 38 unanswered points in the first half.
The second half picked up right where the first left off, with relentless physical defense providing the backs with the front-foot ball they thrive on.
By the final whistle, the boys had secured an impressive victory, showcasing a brilliant team performance. The coaches were particularly impressed by the intensity the boys maintained throughout the full 50 minutes. The forwards were dominant, controlling the ruck on our own ball and ruthlessly seizing every opportunity to steal possession. This left the opposition with minimal chances to play. Meanwhile, the backs moved the ball with great speed and purpose, creating fluid attacking play.
The boys now head into a well-deserved Christmas break before returning in January for the next three rounds of the cup.
